Introduction

Biodiversity is an essential resource for humans. High biodiversity determines the stability of environmental functions and services in various ecosystems to improve human welfare. One of the biodiversity that can be utilized is microbes. The richness of microbial species has an essential value in maintaining the stability of ecological functions and environmental services. Microbial diversity is also a fundamental asset in utilizing various fields such as industry, environment, and energy. The long-term commitment to the development industries that benefit humanity must continue. On the other hand, this unfavorable impacts the quality and quantity of waste produced, including hazardous and toxic materials. Therefore, to reduce pollutants in the environment and reduce the toxicity of various pollutant compounds, the use of microbes such as bacteria, molds and fungi will be significant. The use of microbes in that process is known as remediation, which is influenced by pH, water content, nutrients, temperature, and oxygen. Microbes have been widely used in environmental management, namely water purifiers, waste decomposers, marine oil decomposers, detergent decomposers, plastic decomposers, heavy metal decomposers, and pesticide decomposers. Advances in biotechnology innovation today offer possibilities for research development in various fields of today’s biological sciences, such as from industry and environmental microbiology. Biotechnology provides new tools to increase and increase human life expectancy with the environment and preserve, evaluate, and utilize other aspects of human benefits. Through, the international conference themed “Microbiology to Multiple Industrial and Environmental Application to Support Sustainable Development and Improve Human Welfare”, hoped that the latest developments in microbiology used in industry and the environment will be known.
