Society for Indonesian Biodiversity (SIB) or Masyarakat Biodiversitas Indonesia (MBI) is an organization that engaged in the sphere of research, conservation and use of biodiversity in a sustainable manner at the level of genes, species, ecosystems, and cultural utilization (ethnobiology). SIB was founded in Surakarta, Indonesia on July 17, 2006. The nature of SIB membership is valid for lifetime. Prospective members must approve SIB Bylaw (AD/ART MBI) and pay a membership fee of IDR 200,000 (USD 15) per year. Full payment for the 5, 10 or 20 years (lifetime) get a rebate of 25%. Members get a sample of the journal “Biodiversity” and “Nusantara Bioscience” print edition and/or online and get privileges and rebates for activities organized by central board of SIB.
